JPL C League Softball 2006

If you want to join or manage a team in JPL B League Softball, please contact Charlie Kaczinski (4-3974) or Richard Chen (4-1259) or Scott Morgan (4-4972).

All players must sign a release (html, word) before playing.

SCHEDULE

• First listed team is home team and has equipment responsibility
• Equipment is obtained from assigned equipment monitor (see below).
• All games start at 5:30. Arrive by 5:20 to warm up. This means YOU!
• x-x means field not available to C League.

Message from the Commissioner, 29 Jun 2006

Attached is the schedule for the first 3 weeks in July. We will be playing at Hahamonga park which is located across from La Canada High School. At the intersection of Foothill and Oak Grove turn into the park and go a little bit and make a left and go downhill. You will see the fields and parking. I have called the field with the backstop and dirt infield HN and diagonally across from home plate is where the second field should be set up. I have called that HS.

Reporting Games: The only requirement is to report forfeits. Forfeits consist of less than 8 players or no women. The additional information is to help a team's credibility by showing it has consistently extra players for most games, even though a game is forfeited. A report should be submitted after each game. You do so via either html or MS Word.

If one of your games should be rained out, a makeup game will be added. Call Charlie Kaczinski to report rainouts. Try not to cancel games first thing in the morning if the weather looks iffy. It will frequently clear by game time.

Both managers should bring copies of the 2006 field permit (MS Word) and the C League rules to every game.

Bases are 60 feet apart with cones at 150 feet from home plate. The pitching rubber is 46 feet from home.

In case of unresolvable field conflicts, call the police at (626)744-4501. Be sure to have the permit.

GENERAL INFO

• March 24: steps for teams to join.
  1. Fill out and sign an official team fee deposit form with "C League" pre-checked.
  2. take the deposit form to the Caltech Credit Union and present it to the teller at the time of deposit
  3. deposit $400 team fee (in the form of check, cash, or credit union transfer) into the JPL Softball Program's account as listed in the registration form
  4. get the deposit form stamped by the CU teller as proof-of-payment
  5. retain the original stamped proof-of-payment for your records
  6. send a copy of the stamped proof-of-payment form, along with a valid team registration form (html, pdf, excel), and signed release of liability (html, word) for each rostered player to Charlie Kaczinski (location: 103-103C, Ph: 4-3974, MS: 103-106; Fax: 3-6994).
  Keep originals for proof, especially the waivers and the team fee deposit form.
• April 18: season starts
• September 1: season ends
• C League is non-competitive
• 7:3 male:female ratio
• Games on Monday through Thursday
• Rose Bowl area H, sometimes others including Hahamonga Park
• No balls or strikes
• ~18-week season
• All players must sign a waiver (release). The team manager keeps them and sends a copy to the registrar.
